Wow this game really has to be the scariest. I mean dont you just feel all freaked out when walter is chasing you with a chainsaw and your running for your life? Or when the ghosts just follow you everywhere makeing those creepy noices all the time. Or when the room gets all messed up and you can actually die in the room? This has to be the most scariest silent hill.

IMO SH 3 had my vote as the scariest. However I have seen clips of sh 4. Maybe the monsters that pop out the walls were a surprise. It looks like u'd never know when they'd strike!

*resurrects the thread like an a**hole* (Only, I've got something worth saying AND reading.)
SH 4 is fairly decent with it's scares, although it does rely more on cheap "thriller" scares than long drawn out fear. You know, the things that just make you jump? Well there are a lot in "The Room". It's not a bad game, a little unorthodox for a Silent Hill game. But, then again. It wasn't supposed to be one when it was first made.
I'll say more later. I'm about to pass out.

I have to go for 3 on this one. Parts of silent hill 4 were pretty scary but i dont agree with it being the scariest. And yeah walter nearly caused me a heart attack

Oh by far it's not the scariest, although it may have some of the best sound track stuff. It's between 3 and 4 for which has the best sound track. But that's irrelevant.
*continuing from where I left off before I went to bed* Walter Sullivan looks like Jonathan Davis of KoRn. But the ghosts make the game a little "scarier" I suppose. Because you can't kill them. Even with the sword.

For me the sound effects are what make a good horror game. Turn the sound off and you wont be half as scared. Turn it on and your being freaked out instantly. You dont know the difference unless you compare the games with sound on and sound off
