Yeah, pretty much what the title says. . .
How did you feel about this game? Did the American developers truly capture the essence of Silent Hill? Did you find it frightening? Was it just a trite piece of garbage that lacked any bit of subtlety and/or creativity?
Personally, I found it to be another solid addition in the franchise and a MASSIVE improvement from Origins. I enjoyed every bit of it, despite some uninspired movie "references". How 'bout all of you?

for me. I think it was cool. I can only go on what I see. I have not played it although I wish I did have my hands on this game. But I have a feeling its very good. Just like you said MASSIVE improvement from origins. I've said the same thing.
To me it didnt lack any creativity. Looks like it did pretty good for me.

Right, well some tend to feel strongly about the movie elements placed in the game. Personally, I didn't mind them. They never broke canon, so I'm good. =D

Thats so true. They never break the canon. Just like RE. Games are so loyal to movies...well very few...I dont know anymore besides RE and Sh but..yea Silent hill is loyal.
ya, I really dont mind the movie elements either.

I haven't played it yet. I've heard good things, I've heard bad things. I've seen video of game play, I've seen screen shots, I've seen a few cini's.
From what I've seen, it's getting a 7/10. Pyramid Head doesn't belong in there, so far as I can surmise, and acts, just like the butcher did as a fan call out of sorts. Although, I've seen nothing of as to reasoning behind why he's in the game, so if there is valid reasoning behind it, I'll revoke my previous statement.
I'm not impressed, although my first impression of seeing him, was nearly sh*tting my pants in excitement. But, that too faded, although he looks awesome.
I lack the proper hardware to play the game. So until I get the right hardware, hang out with someone who does, or they downgrade it some, I'm stuck.

Pyramid Head, once again, acts as a punisher of sorts in Homecoming. Since he's rooted in the Order's past and is a symbol of Silent Hill, the Sect used his image as a way of scaring their children into doing what was right. His image can be seen through the drawings collected and is usually referred to as "The Bogeyman". Rumors and writing imply that he kidnaps naughty children and kills them.
With the founding families and the four sacrifices, PH was manifested out of general guilt. Each parent desired punishment, much like James, for having killed someone close. PH is seen stalking Bartlett in the hotel portion of the game, and his presence is hinted throughout the rest of the game. We can assume PH follows both Fitch and Holloway at certain points due to the insects which seem to be attracted to him and the sound of his scrapping sword. Towards the end, he kills Alex's father, who possibly suffered the most for dooming the entire town to a fiery hell.
So yes, Pyramid Head DOES have a valid and important purpose within this title. Now, I'm not going to defend the Butcher, as he was simply created to please the fans. The symbolism behind that creature is flimsy at best...
